It's been shown that that successful people in every field hold certain beliefs about themselves or their capabilities. Holding the right beliefs enable them to perform at their best.

We're very interested in hearing from all comedians at every level, about what their beliefs are about themselves in the field of performing comedy.

This may take a little introspection - which in itself you may find valuable. You might come up with several beliefs, which as you share them with the rest of us, you may also evaluate in terms of how effective they are for you, and subsequently consider upgrading them.

To start the ball rolling -

"I believe the more enthusiastic and manically expressive I am, the more the audience will laugh"

"I believe my willingness to listen to the views of others will help me get better at what I choose to do"

"I believe people like me"

"I believe the size and shape of the room I perform in is a key element"

"I believe I'm performing from the second I set foot in the club"

"I believe in the power of living by self-derived or adopted principles"
