Every Wednesday night sees 8 different comedians performing a 10 min booked open spot. The show starts at 8.30 and admission is free. The club boasts a stage, mic, sound system and dedicated lighting. They will also be having a Comedy Balloon 'Comedian of the Year' contest open to any comedian who has appeared 3 times between Jan and August, with a cash prize of Ł150.

There are now only the open spots and a pro compere. No curry. No disco. The acts are voted for by three randomly chosen judges in the crowd. Highest scorer gets to do an open spot on Friday or Saturday before a full professional card. Competitors must book in advance.

The Manchester arm of the London original running comedy throughout the week with open spots available on Fridays alongside professional acts. Best suited to acts with plenty of gigs under their belt. "Gong Show" style open spots allow up to 5 minutes with the possibility of being "red-carded" off the stage by the audience.
